Bac2 appoints Larry Taylor as market
specialist for polymer catalysts

Southampton, UK, September 8th, 2010: Bac2, the cleantech materials and components company, has appointed Larry Taylor as its market specialist for latent acid catalysts in industrial polymer applications. He is responsible for delivering commercial and technical support to Bac2’s chemicals customers.

Mr. Taylor has over 20 years’ experience in the chemicals industry, working with multinationals and smaller specialist businesses. He has served in senior roles with BP Chemical, Borden Chemical, and Hexion Speciality Chemicals. His experience has been primarily focused on the application of resins in automotive and industrial applications. Bac2’s latent family of patented CSR latent acid catalysts enable manufacturing companies using polymer resins to have close control of polymerization processes. They reduce manufacturing costs by facilitating safe handling and storage of
pre-polymeric mixes. CSR catalysts enable rapid controlled curing at just 120 degrees C, a much lower temperature than that needed for similar catalysts, resulting in lower energy, lower cost processing.

Commenting on Mr. Taylor’s appointment, Bac2’s CEO, Mike Stannard, said:

“We are very pleased to welcome someone of Larry’s abilities and experience to our team at a time when new market opportunities for CSR catalysts are becoming apparent every day. There is a growing demand for these products around the world from companies in industries ranging from paper and board processing to plastic product manufacturing.”

Mr. Taylor is a Graduate of the Plastics and Rubber Institute (now the Institute of Minerals Mining and Materials) and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Polymer Chemistry.
